Seán Patrick Duffy grew up in Warwood, WV. He earned a BA in History from Wheeling Jesuit College, a JD from the Washington College of Law at the American University, and an MBA from Wheeling Jesuit University. He has taught history, law, and business at the college level for several years. While serving as Intellectual Property Coordinator at Wheeling Jesuit University 's Center for Educational Technologies, Seán researched and wrote curriculum materials for the Foundations of Freedom project, a DVD-ROM based curriculum supplement on the history of the U.S. Constitution. He is the author of three books on local history: The Wheeling Family: A Celebration of Immigrants & Their Neighborhoods (Creative Impressions, 2008), Wheeling: Then & Now with Paul Rinkes ( Arcadia , 2010), and the newly released The Wheeling Family Volume 2: More Immigrants, Migrants & Neighborhoods (James Thornton, 2012), which is available at many local retail outlets, including The Wheeling Artisan Center, Words & Music Bookstore, and Mt de Chantal Kroger. The book can also be purchased online at www.cre8m.com/books.html. Duffy was named a West Virginia History Hero by the West Virginia Division of Culture and History in 2010. He is a member of the Wheeling Arts and Cultural Commission, the Wheeling Heritage Roundtable, the Wheeling Civil War 150 Committee, Friends of Wheeling and The West Virginia Independence Hall Foundation Board. He currently works at the Ohio County Public Library in programming, publicity, archives and reference.
