To celebrate the freedom to read, we will have a series of activities that everyone of all ages can participate. We have an interactive board, a scavenger hunt, prizes and more. Please call us at 740-676-9421 or stop in for more details.

Recognize adult and children literature that was banned and/or challenged in the United States and around the world!

 

 

The different activities:

  • Scavenger Hunt – Find 15 banned or challenged books around the library. Prize: bookmark, participation certificate and one entry in the Random Drawing.
  • Essay – In 500 words or less write a short essay on “Why it is important to have the freedom to read?” Prize(s): Grand Prize – Book, button, bookmark(s), and participation certificate. Runner Ups – gift card, button, bookmark(s) and participation certificate.
  • Random Drawing – Anyone can put their name in for a drawing to win a banned or challenged book. Prize: Book and bookmark(s)
  • Interactive board – Take a picture of your mug shot for reading banned or challenge books. Post the photo on our Facebook page and/or submit it so it can be posted on the library website.
